Copart supports historic Race to the top of Pikes peak

Copart’s four locations in Colorado joined forces to sponsor the 99th running of the legendary Pikes peak international hill Climb auto race that runs from June 22 to 25.

The unique motorsport spectacle, also known as the Race to the Clouds, sees a wide range of vehicles racing to the top of Pikes peak in Colorado. The course covers 12.42 miles with more than 156 turns, drops of up to 2,000 feet, and no guardrails. just to add to the spectacle, the road was unpaved until 2002, and not completely paved until 2011. The finish line is more than 14,000 feet in the air at an altitude that requires many drivers to use oxygen tanks to stay sharp. Those who win earn the coveted title of King of the Mountain.

Divisions include production-based cars in Time attack racers, to custom-built vehicles just for the race, and even the single-seat, open-wheeled racers that have competed since the first race in 1916.

When it comes to why we decided to become a race sponsor, Copart Colorado Springs general manager Samantha Crane said it best:

“This race is such a huge part of our Colorado community. We’re sponsoring this race to reconnect with everyone and join in the fun.”

Copart’s branding will appear in the program, around the track, and at special events. but more importantly, Copart’s Colorado team members will attend to safely interact with the public as part of the festivities.

Copart’s sponsoring locations include Colorado Springs, Denver, Denver central and Denver South.

So, hello people of Colorado. It’s good to see you again, cheer with you again, and celebrate all the things we share together once again.

It’s good to be back.
